Yippee Yeti!

I am trying not to be too much of an angsty yeti lady here up in Minnesota as I have officially reached the winter breaking point last weekend with that terrible ice storm/blizzard that destroyed our roads (half are still covered with an inch of compacted snow and ice), gave Jake’s rear bumper a nice big crack in it (he was shaken up but otherwise fine) and resulted in me digging my car out of the four foot snow drift that the nighttime parking lot plow crew left (so politely) behind my car.

So let’s instead celebrate the fun, snowball-throwing part of winter AND the fact that my little (tiny, BABY) brother earned his driver’s license on Thursday last week. I’m so very proud of him, so he gets an adorable yeti card to celebrate.

The Yeti Set Go stamp set from Lawn Fawn is the perfect happy-go-lucky winter set to make congratulatory card. I stamped everything out on Neenah White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with copics. Copics used: Trees – G05, G17 – Letters – BG000 – Yeti – BG000, BV00, BV01, T0, T2, T5, R21.

I add three more big touches to bring everything together. The snowy hills were made from watercolor paper and covered in Frosted Lace Stickles. The kraft cardstock was stamped with the Tiny Ink Spots background in Soft Pool shadow ink for a snowy effect. Lastly, and most prominently, I used Quinn’s ABCs and the coordinating dies + BG000 for a subtle kick of color to really make the extra happy.

All and all, though, we’re doing pretty well around here. I’m making lots of lists, trying my best to stay motivated and taking time to relax and celebrate life. Like the other day when Jake and I went on a date to The Lego Movie, which was, in fact, awesome.
